LMP2
Phil Hanson set the pace during the practice session that began for the 4 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps, with the fastest 2m05.030 circuit lap. 7.0039km track in No22 United Autosports USA Oreca-Gibson.
The number 37 COOL Racing Oreca was just 0.030s ahead of Hanson’s Oreca and Malthe Jakobsen setting a 2m05.060 lap. He was 0.039s in front of number 81 Dragonspeed USA following Sebastian Montoya set a 2m05.099 lap.
LMP2 PRO AM
Three of the top cars were separated by just sixty-nine tenths of an inch the fastest car being the fastest of LMP2 Pro/Am runners. The No20 Algarve Pro Racing Oreca placed 4th overall and placed 3rd on the podium in LMP2 Pro/Am, 0.080s ahead of the second-placed entry The no43 Inter-Europol competition Oreca that finished 5th overall, with an overall 2m05.301 lap.
LMP3
The No31 Racing Spirit of Leman Ligier was the fastest of the 12 LMP3 participants, as Antoine Doquin posting a 2m12.789, only 0.068s behind the world-leading no17 COOL Racing Ligier, with Marcos Siebert posting the best time of 2m12.857.
It was the no13 Inter Europol Competition and the no8 Team Virage Ligiers finished the session on the 4th and 3rd fastest places and 4th respectively, with only 0.088s separated the two cars.
LMGTE
Matteo Cairoli set the pace in the LMGTE class, with the no60 Iron Lynx Porsche 911 RSR-19 racing around the Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps in 2m16.741 which was more than half a second faster than the second-fastest car that was that of the 60 Formula Racing Ferrari 488, with Nicklas Nielsen putting in the fastest timing of 2m17.265.
In the JMW Motorsport Ferrari, JMW Motorsport Ferrari was third fastest, while an unnamed GMB Motorsport Aston Martin finishing fourth place, just one second slower than that of the 60 Porsche.
The teams will return to the action this Saturday, to take part in Free Practice 2 which will start at 10h15.
