A Dream Come True

Lilou Wadoux is set to drive in the LMGTE Am category of the WEC championship in 2023. The Frenchwoman will drive a Ferrari 488 GTE Evo n°83, sponsored by Richard Mille, a brand she already represented in 2022. The driver from Amiens tested the Prancing Horse during the last WEC Rookie Test.

The crew could be completed by another female driver and Lilou’s appointment as official driver of Ferrari Competizioni GT underlines the importance that the Prancing Horse manufacturer has long attached to women in motorsport. She expressed her excitement for this opportunity saying: “I am thrilled and incredibly proud to join the Ferrari family. Becoming an official driver is a dream come true and comes with great responsibility”.

This status opens up possibilities for Lilou Wadoux to evolve a Ferrari Hypercar in 2024 since she became last November, the first woman at the wheel of a LMH during the Rookie Test of the WEC with Toyota.

FIA Girls on Track Program

The FIA Women In Motorsport Commission have launched their ‘FIA Girls On Track – Rising Stars’ program which aids young female drivers reach their goals. This partnership between Ferrarri’s Driver Academy and this program marks an important step towards empowering women drivers across all fields of motor sport.

“Hard work always pays off, I will do my best to give back to those who believed me from start” said Lilou Wadoux on joining this prestigious team. This program also serves as a reminder that major automobile companies have long been vocal about supporting gender equality when it comes to professional racing.

“This new position is an important step in my young career, but I am ready to give my best and represent one of most famous brands in world,” added Lilou.

In Conclusion

Lilou Wadoux has joined forces with AF Corse & Richard Mille Racing Team ahead of her debut race at World Endurance Championship (WEC) season 2023.
